And now for the Good News ... please be upstanding.
Brahma Kumaris make it to records book
BKWSU has gained an entry in the Limca Book of World Records 2008, the organisation claims, for the biggest advertising hoarding.
The hoarding was erected by the Belgaum branch of Brahma Kumaris as part of the ‘World Peace Festival’ at Sardar High School maidan in Belgaum in December 2006. Its width was 260 feet and height 42 feet, having six parts, each depicting different spiritual messages along with pictures.
Limca is a popular lemon and lime drink produced by Coca-Cola India. The billboard advertisement was approximately the size of 9 double decker buses long by three double decker busses high.
No reference to the costs of materials, or how often it was used, are made.

Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya has secured a double entry in the Limca Book of World Records, 2008, a release issued by the organisation claimed. While one entry was for the longest padayatra, the other was for the biggest hoarding. The Swarnim Bharat Yuva Padayatra – 2006’ staged by the youth wing of the Mount Abu-based Brahma Kumaris, reportedly covered more than 30,000 km. The march started from 30 cities in the country on August 20, 2006, and concluded at Tinsukia in Assam on October 29. The flex hoarding was erected by the Belgaum branch of Brahma Kumaris as part of the ‘World Peace Festival,’ held at Sardar High School maidan in Belgaum in December 2006. The hoarding had a width of 260 ft. and height of 42 ft. It had six parts, each depicting different spiritual messages along with pictures.
